Summary
inside the park
This is said to be the place where a peasant named Jinbe discovered under a big stone a gold seal (kin-in), which later became the national treasure.
The park overlooks Yara cape across the shore. At the gate of the park is a monument of the discovery of the gold seal, and inside is a poetic monument of Guo Moruo, Chinese historian / poet who had a deep tie with Fukuoka, and also a stone tablet representing an ancient map of the surrounding area. The romantic scenery viewed from this park seems to have stayed the same for ages and ages since the ancient time of Himiko (shaman queen).
