Fukuoka is well known as the city with the most delicious cuisine in Japan. The top three dishes of the city are Hakata ramen, thin noodles with a pork bone white soup base; Mizutaki, a healthy hot pot that includes chicken, vegetables and tofu simmered in chicken stock; and Motsunabe, a nourishing hot pot in which beef offal and vegetables are simmered in a soup made with garlic and chili peppers. All these dishes originated in Fukuoka and are now a common cuisine in Japan. There are many restaurants specializing in this cuisine in the Fukuoka downtown area. Why not taste them!
