Yatai (Food stalls) – A must-visit tourist spot

One place you can’t miss when come to Fukuoka is the Yatai (food stalls)!
After 6 pm, many food stalls with colorful noren curtains are lined up in the Tenjin, Nakasu and Nagahama areas, crowded with many tourists and business persons on their way home. Yatai is a feature tourist spot of Fukuoka. In addition to famous local cuisine such as Hakata ramen and one-bite-sized dumplings, you can also taste popular Japanese dishes including oden, yakitori and tempura with sake. Inside the stalls, customers sit very close to the chefs and other diners, so you have more chance to chat with Japanese people! If you find yourself in Fukuoka at night, you must visit Yatai stalls!
