The original shop of Iwataya was founded in 1754. The department store Iwataya has been in business in Tenjin for 70 years now and it is one of the most established department stores in Kyushu. It consists of two buildings; the main building has 2 underground floors and 7 floors aboveground while the new annex has 2 underground and 8 aboveground. Iwataya attracts people of all generations, dealing with items of a wide variety of genres; apparel, household accessories and kids brand goods.
