Nagahama, Maizuru, Oyafuko-dori(Chuo-ku)
Summary
This is a stadium for motorboat racing run by Fukuoka city and the Motorboat Race Enterprise Association. Located near Tenjin (10 minutes walk), the stadium has been well known as a city-based motorboat racing stadium in Fukuoka for over a half century since 1953.
From the viewer stand, you can command a scenic view of urban expressway, Yahoo Dome and the surrounding buildings. The racing zone sticks out into the mouth of Naka River around the first corner, making this stadium very unique. As the water surface is continuous with the sea, strong heaves are created just before the full tide. The inlet length of 180 meters is the shortest in Japan. The central stand built in 2003 is a bright and open space that alters the typical image of this type of facility. Cafe and restaurants are also available in the stadium.
If you join the membership, you can get the latest race information by phone or fax, and you can also vote for races online.
