This tour visits castle ruins, Bodaiji (family temple) of the lord Kuroda and other famous spots around the old territory of Chikuzen, which was among the largest ones in Edo period. You can see Kin-in (gold seal designated as a nationally important property) displayed at Fukuoka City Museum.

Kushida Temple, the tutelary temple of Hakata, is a base of Hakata Yamakasa Gion festival. Tochoji temple and Sofukuji temple have long history and they are the symbols of the local area. Yanagibashi Rengo Ichiba is a fish market dealing with fresh seafood from Genkai Sea and recognized as a “pantry of Hakata”.

This tour visits Kushida shrine which becomes the main stage of spectacular Yamakasa Gion festival, Hakozaki shrine, one of the three major Hachiman shrines (the shrines dedicated to the patron god of the Minamoto family and of the samurai in general) and the old top-ranking shrine of Kashii where you can see the main shrine hall which is built in a very unique construction technology called “Kashii zukuri”.
