Hakata station is a core station of the rail network of Kyushu. The station is now undergoing a renewal for the reopening in the spring of 2011. After renewal, it is going to be 6 times larger than now and become a station building worthy of being called “the gateway of Fukuoka, Kyushu and Asia”. Tokyu Department and T-joy, making a debut in Kyushu, are among the tenants planned to be introduced. Tokyu Hands have also made an agreement on opening a store here. This development plan is expected to bring revitalization effect on the surrounding areas. This station will surely make a lot more development in the future.
