Summary

Stalls

Many streets of Fukuoka are colored with stalls at night. They first appeared and spread in the devastated town after the World War II as a simple and mobile eating place. Today, about 190 stalls are operating in the city and they offer a wide variety of dishes including ramen, tempura, oden, various grilled foods and many others. Contrasted with the modern nightscape of the city buildings, you can feel a lingering stmosphere of old days of Showa era once you duck under the stall curtains. You can visit any of those stalls and meet classic tastes and warm hearts of people.
