This library owns 670,000 books and various kinds of reference materials on administrative service and education. The librarians are always prepared to support you in searching a book and this is a perfect place for your research and study. There is also a special corner with the collection of books and maps related to Fukuoka Prefecture. You can do some preliminary research about the cultural assets you may wnat to visit and enhance your interest and understanding. At the children library, book reading workshops are held every week; for babies on Wednesday and for elementary school kids on Saturday.

Not so many people know about the great collection of cinema related materials of this library. There are about 13,000 pieces of materials including still photos, posters, pamphlets of both Japanese and western movies, that are donated by individuals.
