As early as 1630, Chidoriya started a company of baked confectionary with a production method acquired from Portuguese confectionaries imported to Nagasaki. They invented Chidori-manju cake, adding white bean jam to Portuguese style cake and it has since been loved by many people as a symbol of the company. Their macarron is also very popular (800 yen for a package of 5 macarrons). Chidoriya is now a company with a reputation of nation wide and beyond.
