Keiran Somen noodles

This is one of the three major confections of Japan. This noodle shaped confection made from yolk and crystal sugar is completely handmade. Sweets brought in from Portuguese in the Edo period were rearranged to suit the taste of Japanese and this was one of the products at the time. The sweet flavor and moist texture of this sweet are reasons for its popularity which can be served well with tea.
