This confection company was founded by Oyama Soemon in the Edo period and its products have long been loved by people of Hakata. The company was designated as an exclusive confection provider of the lord Kuroda. Oyama Soemon the 14th succeeded in making a rice cracker into a shape of a large sake dish, inspired by the story that a man amazed a lord by drinking up a lot of sake in a large dish and the load bestowed him with a valuable arrow. No one had succeeded in giving a shape to rice crackers before and its method and the taste was highly praised. Kuroda Bushi Senbei (rice cracker) has since been handed down with its original producing method and taste.
