Exterior Appearance

The museum, located in the Higashi Park where the Fukuoka prefectural office building resides, exhibits historical materials related to the battle of Bun-ei and Koan that were the invasions of northern part of Kyushu by Mongolian army. Armors of Japanese and Mongolian armies or Mongolian armor suit made with hard animal skin are exhibited, and these are informative materials to compare the cultural difference with armor technology of both countries. There are also pictures of Mongolian invasion by Yada Issho, the oil painter of Meiji period, and swords and harquebuses from Edo-period.
