City Marathon Fukuoka started in 1989 to celebrate the 100th anniversary of Fukuoka City. Runners start from Yahoo Dome and run through the city along the flat and loop course in the fresh autumn breeze. The number of runner registration is among the largest in Japan, with 5000 for the half marathon course and 3000 for a full 5 kilometers course.
