Focus on Asia; Fukuoka International Film Festival started as one of the major events of Asian Month in 1991. As most of the films screened in the event every year are premieres, the event attracts many people from Fukuoka and other prefectures. This valuable event promotes discovery and cultivation of new talents while introducing to the world excellent films from Asia, deepening understanding of Asia through cultural and international exchange.
