Domestic terminal 1 is departure/arrival gate for the flights to provincial area such as Kyushu and Shikoku, Nigata, Sendai etc, and terminal 2 is for the flights to metropolitan area such as Tokyo and Osaka, Nagoya and Sapporo.

From Hakata Station, you can take trains of Sanyo Shikansen line, Kagoshima main line, Sasaguri line (Fukuhoku Yutaka line) and Fukuoka-minami line.
You can also make a transfer to Kyushu Shinkansen by Relay Tsubame traveling via Shin-Yatsushiro, to Oita (Nippo line) via Kokura station and also to Nagasaki (Nagasaki main line) via Tosu station.
